Eat, Drink, and Boomer Sooner

It's a big week! OU's first home game is Saturday and Norman is so ready for some Sooner football. For all of you out-of-towners, Norman has been going through a lot of construction over the past several months. Highway 9, Lindsay, Main St., and Robinson all are under construction at various points (basically any road that takes you East to West). Prepare a head and avoid all the game day traffic by arriving in Norman by 10 am. Since the game isn't until the evening, we came up with some suggestions for fun things to do in Norman.
The Mont
Right down the street from us at the corner of Boyd and Classen, the Mont is a classic. Known for their infamous swirls (sangria and margarita swirled into one) it's a Norman favorite. Granted, while their food and drinks are okay, it is the atmosphere that keeps us coming back. The patio is covered in greenery with fun lights, water misters to keep you cool, and an energy of true Sooner fans. Grab lunch there or enjoy an afternoon of conversation and a few drinks, it's an experience.
Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art
Right across the street from the Boyd house on campus resides the Art Museum. Admission is always free (hello?! sign me up!) due to the generous donations from the Athletic Department! Their hours on Saturday are from 10am until 5pm. Enjoy your afternoon before the game in the air conditioning checking out the unique exhibits. If you have never been, this would be the time to go!
There is no lack of places to eat on Campus Corner (especially with all of the new restaurants opening up) but Jax is one of the best. They recently changed their menu from Cajun food to a more American style. Instead of jambala, they have $2.50 Street Tacos and offer $2 well drinks. You seriously can't beat the price for the quality. Treat yourself, enjoy two drinks without cringing at the bill. Tell them we sent you!
Shop the Boutiques
We might be a little biased...but we think we offer some amazing game day gear. Swing on by Saturday to find the perfect outfit for the game, our home decor, fall clothes, and shoes! Shoetopia closed its doors earlier in the year (they are so dearly missed!) and offered to let us carry some of their best lines. Visit us for all of your Steve Madden, Seychelles, Free People, and Chinese Laundry shoe needs.
Avoid the traffic and get here early on Saturday. Embrace the quaint Norman life for a day or two and of course, GO OU!
